Am fed up with this dept at the L&D hospital - time and time again they do not listen to a word a say and I am just fobbed off as the nurses have no interest in their jobs here & even less interest in trying to help. Through no fault of my own, I have poor hearing & have no option, other than to use this dept - 10 years on and I am still having the same constant battles, with the staff telling me they know my hearing better than I do & that the molds they take of my ears "fit perfectly" when they are enormous, v. uncomfortable and the last pair i had done do not even fit!! Why I am i being left to either wear a hearing aid which is 10+ years old - or being bullied into wearing a "digital" one which means I can sit and watch TV in silence, no trouble - but is useless for allowing me to a) hear my own voice or b) hear the voice of people around me. I'm not a robot - I don't want to sit & watch TV all day long, I just want to get on with me life & be able to hear!!! Surely this is not normal NHS practice to treat people like this, when they no doubt know there is nothing else I can do to improve my hearing myself.....

We are sorry you are unhappy with the service you have had from our Hearing Aid Department. As staff here we do try to do our best for all of our patients. We are only able to issue digital hearing aids as analogue aids are no longer available on the NHS or privately
