"My 'Day surgery' experience."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

Anything else?

i was told to make sure i got there early so i would be seen and done by 11 am. I arrived at 7:10 ish to get processing done. was saddened when i discovered the doors were locked and waited out side as there were not enough chairs out side the doors (clearly everyone was told the same) i was first one at the reception desk but was last one seen and unfortunately had to listen to the gossip from the receptionists for just over an hour.

Afterwards i was in another waiting room for at least two hours in a wonderful set of hospitalised robes. once seen to go under anaesthetic everything started to move wonderfully fast. As some one whom is terrified of needles and certainly not comfortable in hospitals, I was certainly made to feel at great ease.

I woke up later to be greeted by a nurse, very friendly and made me tea and biscuits which was most comforting, especially when you haven't eaten anything.

Over all Day Surgery was a long day, But defiantly made a lot easier by the NHS staff. so I wanted to say thank to all the nurses that day.
