"tremendous understanding after mastectomy"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Day surgery

(as the patient),

I required mastectomy following a recurrence of DCIS. I received tremendous empathy and understanding during a very emotional time when important decisions had to be made.

I was helped to make the correct decision for me at the time and would like to extend my thanks to my surgeon Ms Winter and all her team – breast care nurse, anaesthetist and nursing staff – who looked after me.

All my questions were answered. I felt that people cared. The facilities were marvellous.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your very kind feedback.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting.

I will ensure that your very kind comments are passed on to Ms Winter and the team.

Paul
