"Told to think positive for my depression and anorexia"

About: Central Lancashire PCT

(as the patient),

I needed a repeat prescription and couldn't see my usual doctor at University of Central Lancashire Medical Centre so was given a doctor I'd never seen before.

The doctor first asked me some questions about what was on my record. I'm in recovery from anorexia so they asked what I eat and then told me I was 'looking well' - I have never before seen this doctor.

Upon asking for my prescription, one of the items being anti-depressants, the doctor proceeded to tell me that I needn't be taking the tablets and costing the NHS money, all I needed to do was 'think positive' and that would cure my depression. Depression I have been suffering from clinically for at least 5 years on record.
