"Experience compared well with US care"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust Lincoln County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had total knee replacement op in December 2011 and attended this December 2012 for a review.

Whilst in hospital for the operation the staff were superb. Everything that could be done for me was. The staff were cheerful and positive (with one sole exception). The ward was spotlessly clean, staff very professional and made my stay as comfortable as possible. We the patients and they the staff should be proud of our NHS.

I have been in hospital in the USA and my experience of the NHS compares very well. They don't have waiting lists there as the poor folk simply don't get any treatment, period (as the yanks say).

Dear 'Streaky' - thank you very much for your posting; it was great to hear that you received such good care and that we compared so favourably with our friends from over the pond! I have shared your story with the team at Lincoln County and they will be delighted.

I hope you are recovering well and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience with us.
