What I liked
The care I received at the JR was exceptional and I couldn't fault it. I had been wrongly advised at Witney MIU that my cut thumb was not too serious and even if the tendon was damaged (it was 100% severed) there was no urgency in getting it treated. 5 days later (on Christmas Eve) I saw a different nurse at Witney MIU who phoned the JR and I was able to speak to consultant. He explained the urgency and kindly agreed to operate that afternoon. Everyone was kind and attentive. My anaesthetist must have done a brilliant job as I had no adverse after effects and was able to enjoy Christmas Day to the full. The Consultant did a fantastic job on my thumb - I can't thank him enough for getting all done so quickly. It's early days but all going well so far thanks to more great care from the physiotherapist .
For acute care the NHS is fantastic. Please pass on my thanks to all those involved in my care.
