"Staff very Good on my Ward but need to rethink way..."

About: Good Hope Hospital

What I liked

I had my knee revision all the staff were very nice Ward G14 Room 6 the only thing i must say is i was discharged from hospital on Monday lunch 10/12/2012 i had to collect my prescription and waited in the discharge room for 3 hrs in which was so hot there was a young girl in there who had sickness and looked so ill. I do think she should have been taken to a ward straight away What i am trying to get to is at 10.00 pm that evening i went down with Nora virus i was so ill and i am still feeling so weak. The district nurse would not come out to me due to the Virus, I know that someone on the ward where i was also had sickness so maybe caught it there? Today is Saturday still have my clips in knee as cant get out but hopefully Monday i am felling better and managing to eat and keep some food down so i can get some medical help i have lost 1 1/2 stone and feel very weak

The Staff were very nice on my Ward but wished things hadn't ended this way and do fell that a different way of collecting medication could be improved. This is the third occasion i have had to wait in the discharge room for medication which is so very hot and stuffy and think the time could be improved quiet a lot. I do hope you will listen to me and try to improve this area also i wasn't given a sharps box for me needles. Time in discharge room 3 hrs with 3 staff and 3 people waiting for medication, my partner did go down to pharmacy after 1 hrs they told him it was on a final count so why did it take another 2 hrs ?
