What I liked
My mother was brought in to QA as an unexpected critical emergency admission. She was looked after by a named RAF nurse and an RAF doctor. They were absolutely excellent, very caring and supportive at a difficult time for my family. They treated my mum and her family with dignity and respect and enabled us to stay with her while she died. They also provided an opportunity for her eldest granddaughter who had to travel down from London to say goodbye after mum had died.
The A&E dept offered us the opportunity to talk to the staff who had looked after my mum some six weeks after death. I took advantage of this and was able to ask questions about her condition and treatment that I had not thought about at the time as we were all very distraught and upset.
Thank you for this service it was wonderful and for the care and professionalism of the staff on duty that night.
What could be improved
Nothing!
Anything else?
That the hospital can call on the expertise of the forces medical personnel is great for patients.
"Caring professional staff for whom nothing was too..."
