What I liked

The medical staff were thoughtful,efficient and listened to the patients. Sometimes they seemed to be looking for things to do and had plenty of time to gossip. I was very pleased with the care and would recommend thr unit to others.

What could be improved

The food was unappetising and just warm, a shame because I expect a great deal of time and money had been spent on getting it to the wards.

Thank you for taking the time to post these positive comments about your recent experience in our orthopaedic ward. It is always good to hear that our service and the care that we give meets or exceeds expectations as our teams work hard to do the very best they can for our patients. We are sorry that you didn't feel you were treated with dignity and respect or involved in your care all of the time you were with us; these are things that we are very passionate about. The matron for the area will feed these points back to the ward team in order that they have a good awareness of how their actions and attitudes directly impact on patients' experiences. It means so much to us all when individuals are motivated by a good service to comment but it is so important that patients are able to give constructive feedback to help us change how we work to improve patient care. Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience and we wish you well in your continued recovery.

We are sorry that your food was only just warm when it was served to you. The ward sister will discuss this with the team to understand why this may have occurred and put in steps to ensure this is rectified. Generally, the food at the Trust receives positive reviews - we always strive to ensure that patients' dietary and cultural needs are met and we can always offer alternative menu choices and snacks if a patient requests it.
