What could be improved

The Childrens ward seemed somewhat chaotic and disjointed.Half the staff hidden away on the seperate side of the ward. No easy access.

Parents from all over had the use of a small kitchen facility if sleeping over with their children this was unclean with a blocked sink for 4 days with a note on it saying it had been reported on 25/11.

It was a terrible advert and gave a very poor first impression. It was a sink and shoiuld have been sorted.Hygeine?

The tempreture was roasting in the play room and everyone seemed to be coughing.

My major concern was the discharge proceedure.

So youre told your child is being discharged at 10.30am and by 4pm there is still no discharge letter, no prescription and no one seemed to know or have concern as to when we would be allowed to leave. This resulted in us self discharging in total frustration at the lack of explanations offered. Surely your seen assessed and almost six hours later no letter no prescription and everyone is fed up especially the children.

One nurse described my wifes questions to colleagues as 'She' wants to know this and that not Mrs B and the lack of interest by several staff was really concerning. The sister on the ward and doubtless the staff were busy but on numerous occasions were all sat or stood chatting. First impressions!

Other parents were frustrated and confused at delays lack of responses and seemingly unecessary unexplained delays in treatments

Anything else?

Who does the buck stop with? The hospital seems riddled with Beaucracy. Lots of people working independantly disjointed. Not a good impression.
