"Misdiagnosis after football injury"

About: Victoria Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Victoria Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

Waited for three hours to be seen. People with minor injuries seen before me.

Then examined told I had torn ligaments and sent home.

Went back a week later and told scan was lost but now I have fractures and torn ligaments - ankle put in plaster. Nurses and plaster staff said it was a joke and my treatment was shocking. Doctors I met were rude arrogant and indifferent.

Now seeing another specialist. I will avoid this place like the plague.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting.

You raised a number of issues that are of concern and I have passed your comments on to the manager responsible for these services to share your experience with local staff.

Paul
