"I was treated rudely by the physiotherapist at the fracture clinic"

About: Derriford Hospital

(as the patient),

This year I had a fall, and broke my wrist, I was treated with care respect from casualty. I needed an operation, which I also received the best care, throughout my time at Derriford I had no problems, however when I started my physio, that was different.

To start with it was fine, then I was treated very rudely by my physio, and could not face going back. Hence where I am today, having to receive further treatment, it has slowed down my recovery. The sign says. Staff will not except any abuse from patients, well in my case, it felt like it was the other round, I did report this incident. I also had another person with me. This was the fracture clinic - pysio dept. not derriford

I am sorry to hear your experience within Physiotherapy was not as positive as we both would have wished. I note that you reported the incident at the time and I hope that it has been dealt with to your satisfaction However, if you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the PALS team at plh-tr.PALS@nhs.net and we would be happy to contact the Physiotherapy Manager with your comments.

Kind regards

Mary
