"Lack of communication is frustrating"

About: Thornbury Hospital (Sheffield)

(as a relative),

My father is in pain and has been diagnosed with cancer and awaiting a private operation over two weeks now.

The excuse is that they are trying to find specialised equipment to undertake the procedure (which they do hundreds of per week). To add insult to all this, we are paying nearly £5k cash and they do not ring us to update us. I have been ringing nearly every day and when they promise to ring back, they don't which is so frustrating at such an emotional time.

In my opinion, they need to start investing in core skills such as competence, performance and communication in this private hospital.

I am sorry to hear that this patient is experiencing some frustration.

The care of patients and quality outcomes is of prime importance to BMI Healthcare.

If the patient, or relative of the patient would like to contact me directly I would be delighted to discuss the matter further and resolve any issues.

Yours sincerely,

David R Mills

Executive Director
