"Good care on H1 but bad experience in Emergency Admissions"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Nephrology

(as the patient),

I was a patient on Emergency Admissions (as there were no beds) for 24hrs before moving on to ward H1 at the Royal Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield for the treatment of a kidney infection. The nurses do a brilliant job and are far too busy, yet they still manage to be kind and friendly - they put you at ease.

Having to stay on Emergency Admissions was not a nice experience. I was in a mixed room, with little or no privacy, so you could hear what the doctors were saying to other patients, which was at best embarrassing, and at worst quite unsettling.
