" poor service trying to get a physio appointment"

About: Western Infirmary/Gartnavel General / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

My doctor gave me a self referral sheet for the physiotherapy service, however no one ever answers the phone lines (2 hours plus on redial... no answer), my doctor advised me not to bother with the drop in days as they are "very very busy", so I eventually phone the dept directly to be told they can't take my details on the phone as they are too busy, and I should use the phone line on the self referral sheet. When I explained nobody answers the phone line on the sheet, the person agreed, saying they are too short staffed to man the phone lines! I'm sure you will agree, a poor service start to end.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting.

You raised a number of issues that are of concern and I have passed your comments on to the manager responsible for these services to share your experience with local staff.

Paul
