"So proud - excellent care for my mother"

About: Southern General Hospital / Neurosurgery

(as a relative),

Our mother was cared for in Ward 61 and 62 in the summer.

Sadly she died in ward 62 after 3 weeks of the most excellent nursing care- as a nurse myself I was so proud to witness.

The care given to us as a family and the others we met during this time demonstrated the nursing leadership and commitment of all the staff to provide both essential and technical care to an exactingly high standard.

One nurse in particular Mary Theresa Briorty made for us what was a desperate situation a little less harder to bear through her care and compassion.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your very kind feedback.

I will ensure that this is passed on to those involved and I am sure that they will be very pleased to read your comments.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting and where appropriate to pass comments on.

Once again please thank you for using the Patient Opinion feedback system, it is greatly appreciated.

Paul
