"Mum treated with respect and dignity"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My mother had a full knee replacement under the care of Mr Thaliva in November this year,

The care she received was excellent from being admitted to leaving by all the staff on the elective unit. Nothing was too much trouble. The ward is lovely and clean and she had her own room with a lovely TV.

Mr Thaliva is an excellent consultant and treated my mum with care respect and dignity, he visited her daily to check on her progress,

This means a lot to patients especially the elderly who need reassurance.

Keep up the great work

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
