What I liked
The staff in Day Surgery are always friendly and helpful and act in a professional way. One difficulty is as a patient with previous exposure to MRSA and other factors I am always placed at the very end of the list for surgery. I accept this is an important part of control and hygiene but it makes for a very long often uncomfortable wait. But I have to say the unit does a great job in general and I would never attempt to criticise it as I feel it provides an excellent service. In with previous conditions it is not that as an individual I feel marginalised by having to wait until the end of the surgical list it’s just that the pre-surgery waiting room is really uncomfortable small and the wait is boring.
What could be improved
In the spirit of trying to be helpful with comments I would only suggest a larger waiting room with more comfortable chairs and perhaps a small TV and some more reading material. Two hours is i think the longest I have waited recently in here for surgery which is not a lot but I suppose there is an inherent worry when facing surgery that might be helped by a more comfortable holding bay. Or come up with a way to screen and sign consent forms the day before for those at the end of the list.
But the staff are fantsatic and that toast after GAnesthetic tastes great. Thanks
"Pretty Fantastic people who just happen to have..."
