"Impressed by the care in Womens' Health Unit"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was referred to the Womens' Health Unit for an operation to remove my ovaries and some ovarian cysts. My operation was on a Wednesday and I stayed until the Sunday.

I couldn't be more impressed with the standard of care and the cleanliness of the unit. From the nursing staff to the domestic staff they could not have been more helpful and caring.

It was an eye opener from previous visits over the years and from negative press reports of the EDGH.

The happy lady who kept the unit spotless (even cleaning the tops of the internal windows and curtain rails round the beds) and also brought the tea trolley was exceptional.

All of the nurses were sympathetic and caring.

Thank you very much for expressing your appreciation of the standard of care and cleanliness of our Womens Health Unit. As a Trust we are committed to giving the highest quality of care to our patients, and we value all comments from patients and their families.

It was extremely kind of you to take the time to provide feedback. I will ensure that your comments are shared with all the staff concerned, not forgetting the ward housekeeper.

With best wishes
