"Lack of diagnosis for inflammatory arthritis"

About: Stafford Hospital

(as the patient),

I was put on a ward for what they thought was kidney stones! I kept on asking them to do further tests as I didnt think this was the case. I was told the C. T scanner was broken! I also asked repeatedly for my regular medication which has to be taken daily for ulcerative colitis.

I waited and waited till my husband bought my own in from home! ! It was clear to me that the hospitals nurses I saw were very overworked and stressed to the max! At night time I regularly got up in pain to attend to an elderly patient beside me who needed to the toilet and was in a lot of distress at times and was very confused. U were lucky to see a nurse at night.

I went in being able to eat but because of all the drugs they insisted I should have my appetite went down quickly. I felt myself getting weaker by the day. I insisted on more tests but felt I was repeatedly fobbed off by the extremely rude doctors! In the end I asked my husband to help me get dressed for home to help me get better! ! !Since then I will not set foot in this hospital! ! ! Thank goodness my doctor referred me somewhere with hospital equipment to finally diagnose Inflammatory arthritis! !

Stafford don't seem to care. Im lucky I had the sense to get myself out!

Patient care? I didn't see any! !

Dear Samantha

I am sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied during your recent admission to our hospital and I apologise for the fact that your experience was poor.

We really try hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. I would therefore appreciate it if you would be willing to contact me directly on 01785 887693.

Kind Regards
