"Very happy, but hungry!"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

What I liked

All staff were friendly and professional, the anaethestist was very calming and made me laugh when I was nervous going into theatre, staff were good at adminstering pain relief afterwards and best of all, my problematic knee seems to have been fixed after many years! Very clean, curtains were closed when needed to be for privacy, was informed about my anaesthetic options before hand.

What could be improved

I was told not to eat or drink from the night before, but I wasn't taken in until 1.30pm, by which time I was very hungry (especially when they brought dinner to other patients!) and had a headache from dehydation. I was the last one to go down, but hadn't been told this so was waiting and wondering for quite a while, with other patients having their procedures done and sent home before i went in. I know that I was having quite a complicated procedure (MPFL) but it would have been nice to be told so that I could have been prepared.

Anything else?

My follow up appointments were at Preston (by request) so I can't comment on these at Chorley.
