"Making a GP appointment"

I think I should be offered an appointment soon than 7days, I've had this quite a few times since I moved this this area.

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel you are waiting too long for appointments.

I've checked with the NHS Constitution, and unfortunately there are no set rules for how long it should take to get an appointment- your practice should be able to offer you an appointment to see a GP or other healthcare professional quickly IF NECCESSARY. This means that anyone needing to see a doctor with an urgent condition should get a speedy appointment.

So it is important that patients give the practice staff enough information about their problem, this means that staff can triage, and offer fast appointments to those people who need them.

Also, on occaisions, if people prefer to see a particular doctor, or to have an appointment at a certain time to fit in with other committments (such as work), this may take a little longet.

For routine (non-urgent) appointments, it is common for people to have to wait for at least a week.
