I am now a returning 'client', having been referred to the Archway Centre by my GP for confidence issues.
I originally attended CBT about 3 years ago. The staff were all very friendly, and dealt with my condition sympathetically. Individual sessions were helpful in the short term, but for me the efficacy waned after a few days. The course lasted six weeks and finished abruptly whether 'patients' felt better or not.
Subsequently three appointments as a local hospital mental health outpatient ended with the specialist discharging me after being told that I am "one of life's under-achievers".
My latest experience isn't turning out much better, unfortunately.
Having been referred, I phoned with my booking code to make my first appointment. There was nobody available to make the appointment, but they would ring back. 24 hours later I rang again to find out what was happening; I was "down" (coincidentally) "to be rung that afternoon". A telephone appointment was duly arranged.
Having cancelled previous commitments in order to be available for said telephone appointment, I have still not received a call approximately one hour after the allotted time.
Ironically, as my symptoms include low confidence, on present evidence that's what I now have in the service. I don't think my mind-set will allow me to benefit from the treatment I was hoping to get.
"Low confidence in the booking service"
