"A brilliant facility for hip replacements"

What I liked

I had the unfortunate experience needing a hip replacement and this procedure was done last week and I was wowed and impressed by Ward 10 Orthopedic staff.

This ordeal was made bearable for me because the staff were confident and caring and had the experience to guide me through each stage of my recovery.

My sincere thanks to every one on this team from the pre assessment to all the phisio staff and the even the cleaners of the ward it was an all round brilliant experience not one I would like to repeat but I could definitely recommend.

What could be improved

Thanks and admiration can however not be extended to the Scunthorpe Hospital X ray department. This team definitely lacked skill and expertise and were unconcerned in dealing with the activity at hand and were quite happy to discuss next weeks plans with other staff whilst I was in excruciating pain on the x ray bed .

This team need retraining in how to move patients that have just undergone hip replacement surgery it is unfortunate that my visit to the x ray department was by far the the most painful event of the entire procedure.

Anything else?

This is a brilliant facility and a great example of the NHS getting it right in this orthopedic unit. well done Ward 10
