What I liked
There was an efficient arrangement of appointments and clinics. Appointments are confirmed in writing. Time given by most clinical staff was good, They listened.
What could be improved
There are no male nurses for intimate examinations or personal discussions. As treatment for prostate cancer continued I was left with the need to simply put up with female staff to discuss intimate personal issues and intimate examinations including catheter insertion, The urology department has not recruited and has no plans to recruit a male nurse and they consider female only staff acceptable for male cancer treatment. I was told they were all professionals and my personal preference (I would call it my dignity) was not a consideration in the recruitment of staff.
Anything else?
No problem with the medical service or the cancer treatment, It was reassuringly basic.
"No male nurses. Dignity not respected."
