"absolutely awful"

About: Lister Hospital

What I liked

Nothing, I'm sick of the place

What could be improved

More staff, better communication and compassionate doctors

Anything else?

My mum has clots on her lungs, it was misdiagnosed as indigestion early on and she has been to see several 'specialists' who always complain about why another 'specialist' hasn't sent her for these tests or that tests but never actually do anything to follow through what they say should be done... she was taken by ambulance last night because the pain was so severe and was told to just go home talk to her GP and get some more pain killers. This is a joke. Why not try to actually diagnose the problem correctly and keep her under observation as this condition can be extremely life threaterning.

Another thing, my girlfriends uncle passed away last night after losing a battle with cancer, there was no bereavement officers or nurses to help his family and he was there, propped up in bed, no dignity slumped over for hours before a doctor certified him as dead. How disgraceful that there is not enough staff to even let someone pass away with dignity or help his family at such a terrible time. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

These are very concerning matters that you raise about both the care of your mother and your girlfriend's uncle. We would very much like to look in to both for you, although we would need permission of your girlfriend's uncle's family. Please e-mail us on generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net so that we can help understand what happened and why. We hope that you give us that chance.
