"Who to turn to in an emotional crisis"

About: Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as the patient),

I was in an emotional crisis for about 3 months. I was completely isolated with no contact with anybody apart from my Psychiatrist who I saw every 2 weeks.

I rang the crisis services several times - nobody returned my phone calls. Inbetween times I was trying to cope the best I could, this was due to change around me, my symptoms were not ceasing and I had to undo the changes around me as it was the only way I could get the symptonms to stop.

I ended up feeling very vunerable, I told my Psychiartist who is also my care co ordinator, that I would have to call the police in future to get help because my experience was distressing. My psychiatrist said yes and the crisis service was dealing predominantly with people who were Psychotic.

In my opinion some of the staff are lacking in empathy with service users and in turn, leaving some service users vunerable by not providing proper advice.

Dear 'jacHereford'

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your comments about our services. I was extremely sorry to learn that you felt unsupported and isolated while you felt so vulnerable and I apologise that staff did not phone you back when requested

As a Trust we value comments, both good and bad, about our Trust and we would welcome the opportunity to look into your individual case, if you would like us to. Please either send an email to complaints@hertspartsft. nhs. uk or phone us on 01727 804629.

Kind regards
