What I liked

treated with respect and kindness by staff at all levels

privacy and dignaty always considered

ward and bathroom very clean and I was pleasantly suprised at the amount of space around each bed in the 4 patiient ward.

What could be improved

it was very warm weather without any breeze so some air conditioning up on those wards

would have made it more comfortable for both patients and staff.

I was suprised that patiients are asked to bring their own towel.Mine was clean and unused but

there must surely be a risk of infection if just any old towel is grabbed from a family bath room.

Anything else?

I am very impressed with The Nightingale Centre and all the care and services available.The staff do a wonderful job in every way and I will always thank them for possibly saving my life.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on the NHS Choices Website. Your comments have been forwarded to the staff in the Nightingale Centre, who I know are always appreciative when a patient gives such positive feedback.

In reply to your comments in the ‘What could have been improved’ section we would like to reassure you that patients are encouraged to bring their own belongings with them into hospital, including a clean towel, although we do have towels available for use as necessary. The risk of infection is minimal, but if patients do have concerns they can discuss these with a member of staff. Unfortunately we do not have the facility for air conditioning at the hospital, although a small number of room fans are available for patients use.
