I have recently had an operation at the Park Hospital in Nottingham under the N.H.S. I found the treatment excellent, excellent food, medical and nursing staff were very good, it was very clean, treated with respect and dignity, decision making was first class and I was not kept waiting.
However, I had previously been to City Hospital on 30th November before my operation, I saw the same consultant as I did at the Park Hospital. When I arrived they said that you should have come on the 14th December and that this appointment had been canceled. It had not been canceled with me. The nurse said that I was having some sort of operation, then realized that she had the wrong file, the wrong admission sheet as well. I then had E.C.G. and blood test and was sent home. I should have seen a consultant and a physiotherapist to explain to me about the operation and my after care. When I arrived at the Park Hospital for my operation no forms had been sent to them and the admission forms and to be redone. I felt that I should have seen someone prior to this day to discuss my operation.
The operation was a great success and the after care that I have received, the physiotherapy has been excellent.
