"Brilliant Care in Tameside A&E"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had been unable to access my GP and was experiencing severe abdominal pain. I know A&E is only for emergencies, but felt I had nowhere else to go. When I got to the department it was busy but calm - I was seen by the triage nurse in a few minutes and then taken through to a cubicle.

The nurses and doctor were great - within a couple of hours I had had several tests and was discharged with some medicine and advice on what to do.

The overall experience was great - thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback. I will ensure the A&E team are made aware.

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
