What I liked
Nothing at all was treated like a second class citizen from the outset and the staff are uncooperative and its there way or no way
What could be improved
Every thing: Staff and surgeons especially at this Hospital need to realise that the patient has views and opinions... and they are entitled to ask questions about their treatment and care.
I was refered for life changing bariatric surgery and was not listended to or treated properly from the outset. It appears that as people are so desperate to have this kind of surgery, you have to do as your told or else. I merely started asking a few questions that this team had not covered or listened to and was met with the wrath of the Consultant and his team.
Do as your told or else you will be reffered back to your GP!
All the literature on this operation is freely and readily available on their website and they have not followed their own procedures, so naturally as a patient you ask questions... that's the 1st mistake... never ever complain... its not allowed even when they have not followed their own procedures!!
Anything else?
Any other comments:- Yes dont complain to PALS as all the other quotes etc may say... it doesnt get you any where, PALS are unable to assist you and the complaint gets passed to people not in this field of surgery who reply constantly:- "Sorry if this was not the case" in the reply letter back to you.
At the end of the day no one is listening in the Bariatric Team and dare you ever complain then you will feel the wrath of the Consultant and his team... if this is how this team operates how do others at this hospital? after reading some of the reviews on this site it would appear they all have their own way... their's or none at all!

"Sold short, let down... do not come here if you..."
