What I liked
I had an appointment to attend the Boothroyd Day Case Unit on the 28th of September this year, for a small operation on my stoma. When I arrived at the unit I was not kept waiting long. The staff and the surgical team were all very friendly and very kind, they put you at ease and reassure at every stage of your procedure. In the recovery ward you get tea and toast, which was very welcome. On discharge they give you any information you need and a letter for your GP. I have attended this unit before to have dilatation of my stoma, and then the staff were all very kind. The unit is well kept and very clean.
I hope they do not close the A&E unit at this hospital it is vital to our community and to the district. In march this year I was rushed in to the A&E for an emergency abdominal operation, they saved my life and got me well againe. This hospital is the best in are district and to go any further for treatment at an other hospital would be no good. I thank you all at Dewsbury hospital for looking after me and for your excellent care.
