What I liked
i had a hernia repair in sept. on entry to ward all was well, it was explained what was going to happen concerning the opperation. i had the operation woke up , stayed over night, woke up at 7 oclock and was told i was going to have to have a bag attached because i am not weeing enough. anouther nurse came in at 730 and said the same thing and again at about 8 oclock.
supprise anouther nurse came in and told me i could go home here's a letter for you.
when i asked about the wee bag she said oh you do not need one now. thats good i thought picked my bag up and went home on my own by taxi.
it was whemn i got home and my wife asked what was i doing there .she was ment to pick me up, the ward was to ring her when i was to go homeand i was to be kept an eye on for 24hrs after the op.
there was no after care, nothing given to me or spoke to me to inform me of what i was ment to do after op, when i could return to work as no sick note was given from hospital.
i feel as if i was thrown out.
What could be improved
i it would have been nice to know what i could do after the surgery ie no lifting, no driving for one week. my wife told to come and pick me up.
"worrying,"
