"Lack of continuity of care!"

What could be improved

A lot! My mother is in hospital and the standard of care has been lacking. Initial care was in A&E where treatment was good, then moved to AMU where the care from the staff was good but let down by the fact that there was no pillow available so was given to blankets rolled up in a pillowcase!? How can anyone be expected to rest with that! Nil by mouth, moved to another ward was told she could eat by nurse, doctor on rounds said if nurse said then okay, another doctor on same ward told Mum she should never have been eating and back to Nil by Mouth! Mum also told to bring in her own towel as ones provided were of poor standard and then when asked for some cream for sore was told to ask relative to bring some savlon in from home! main gripe is general standard of care provision and continuity of care appears to be sadly lacking! Doesn't leave you with a good experience.
