"Birth centre at St Mary's was really excellent."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

What I liked

The birth centre at St Mary's hospital was absolutely fantastic. The antenatal appointments I had there ran to time and all the midwives I met in the clinics were extremely good. I always felt I had ample time with them and was fully involved in decisions about my care. The facilities at the birth centre were excellent and very clean and it really felt like a home from home. I couldn't fault the midwife I had during my labour, she was amazing. My husband was extremely impressed with the whole set up too.

What could be improved

I really couldn't fault the birth centre at St Mary's it was really excellent. The routine antenatal care which I had before being referred to the birth centre was satisfactory. The medical management was always very good. However, as expected, antenatal clinics occasionally ran late and some midwives were better at explaining things than others. Overall, though, I would definitely go back there.
