What I liked

My 2 year old son had eye surgery here in the day case unit today. I could not have been more impressed with the service we received from the the hospital. All the staff we came into contact with were superb and made the whole process run very smoothly. Bringing a young child in for an operation/anaesethetic is stressful, but they were supportive and very kind throughout - at every stage we were kept informed on what was going on. The nursing and ancillary staff on the day surgery unit, theatres and recovery are a credit to their profession, thanks also to the medical staff.

What could be improved

One minor point - (hospital administration) I understand that parents/carers of children having day surgery can get a parking concession form on the day of surgery - perhaps this should be more widely publicised, ideally in the admission letter from the secretary, so that parents can take advantage of this before they buy a reasonably expensive parking ticket! A good system, poorly publicised.
