"Appalling and a disgrace"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

What could be improved

My mother-in-law attended an appointment with a consultant new to her. He thought it was funny to comment that with all that was wrong with her it was amazing she was still alive. Absolutely hilarious....not! From a so-called professional, this is appalling.

Anything else?

Time to start treating patients with respect.

Thank you for your comments posted on this website concerning comments said to your mother in law.

The Trust would like to apologise to you and your mother in law for the way she was spoken to whilst attending an appointment in the Rheumatology Clinic at North Tyneside General Hospital. This is clearly not the way the Trust would expect a member of its staff to behave. Please accept our apologies. We will remind all staff about the way they speak to patients and through this how they portray the Trust.

Patient and carer feedback is very important to our organisation, thank you for taking the time to write.
