About: Royal Preston Hospital

What I liked

Firstly, this is about the Rapid Assessment Unit.( not an option to choose on the drop down box)

Getting out of there.

What could be improved

Firstly, this is about the Rapid Assessment Unit.( not an option to choose on the drop down box)

Patient seating area, 5 seats, in small cramped room with no fan on hot day with patients not well.

Communication, not one update during my Wifes 6 hour assessment.

Organisation, each person before us commented on how when they were told an x-ray was required they then had to wait around 2 hours before being sent for the x-ray.

Blood tests I can understand the wait, but why not send patients for an x-ray straight after any blood tests and then when the blood tests come back they would already have the x-ray results to hand?.

You have to personally ask at the office for any updates, which then reminds them you are still there and what steps they should be doing next.

And finally when all is done and you sense you`re about to escape you then await any medication before leaving and you then have another hours wait while it arrives. Or in my Wifes case they gave her enough medication to last through the night from a cabinet and she was then told to return the next day for a prescription.

Rapid Assessment? No I don`t think so!.
