"The Nurses did a great job, They where very..."

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

What I liked

The Nurses did a great job,

They where very helpful and tried to help as much as they could.

The first doctor I saw once I was admitted to the terrington ward!

She said what was the problem and how she intended to solve this.

I would be in at least 5 days and be taken of the drug I had been on for 6years in a controlled environment!

If this had happened I would not of now been off work for more than 2 months.

What could be improved

1)Doctors improve :- Bed clearing should be a sack-able offense, Doctors do your Job then think about releasing the patent when you have them on the road to feeling and being better, not before!

What this actually shows is that they are doing there job quickly. With everything you would expect that comes with things being rushed. Pushing the Discharge summary is not doing your job.

2)Doctors Improve:- write clearly, if you cannot manage that please get someone else to do this for you. Many five year old children can do better writing that is easier to read.)

Doctors provide a service or should do, anything they do with that patent should be written down clearly at every point.

3) Doctors Improve :-do your job(Communicate and don't lie or make your other doctors seem to be liars)

Talk to the Doctor who said the day before that I would defiantly be in for a week whilst I was taking off a drug I had been on for 6 months. Then this doctor said they would see what drugs

I should be on if any and what over help I needed.

4) Improve your Discharge and do this legally;

The Hospital has a duty of care,

a loving couple will always say they want to be together.

But when the patent to be released can hardly walk and the person he is being released to suffers from epilepsy, Muscular Dystrophy and numerous other problems.( The Doctors new this) The Doctor in charge has a "legal duty of care" to the patent being released only into an environment safe for that patent. ( This did not happen.)

Anything else?

All apart from 1 Doctor, the first doctor I met.

The rest where of no or very little help. Actually I believe they put my life in danger.

1) The ward I ended on Terrington, the doctor in Charge seemed to be bed clearing rather than helping with problems.

If the beds are cleared with a Doctors Diagnoses then the hospital/doctor has done there job. The paper work show Admitted, Diagnosis done, Released with Diagnosis. The complete cycle. Brings the hospital statistics up and shows they are doing there job well.

What this actually shows is that they are doing there job quickly. With everything you would expect that comes with things being rushed.

Pushing the Discharge summary is not doing your job.

Getting people well is your job it is what you are paid for, if this is possible and you do not do this it is incompetence
