"Poor care from day nursing staff on Ward D3 at Royal Bolton"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

(as the patient),

I was recently admitted to Ward D3 of the Royal Bolton Hospital with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The best thing about my experience was the standard of care which I received from the night staff. However, the day staff could have been a lot better.

I arrived by ambulance at 22:15 at the Royal Bolton A & E and was left in a corridor for 55 mins before anyone thought to look at me.I was then left on the trolley for 12 hours before I was found a bed. Some nurses were brilliant, but half of them seemed very ignorant and it seemed like an absolute waste of time to ask them for anything.

We are very sorry that the standard of care you received was not uniformly good. We have sent your comments to the wards concerned so that they are aware of them.
