What could be improved
My father was in the emergency assesment ward yesterday evening and it was filthy. He was confined to a bed and asked for a ' bottle' and the only place to put it that he could reach was the chair beside the bed. An uncaring nurse came in and moved the chair without looking. The chair fell apart and she shouted at my dad for putting the bottle on it! She just pushed it together and put paper towels on the spillage and it stayed like that all night. The chair had fallen apart in pieces so just to push it together is asking for trouble and could cause serious injury..
The toilets were filthy and several of the patients complained that they had to put paper towels down and use the anti-bac. soap before they could step in there. The cleaner that was in the next morning missed several bays and just pushed the dirty towels around with a mop instead of picking them up.
Anything else?
4 Dr's agreed on the evening that something was wrong with his pacemaker as he was in constant pain. However, 1 Dr in the morning said nothing was wrong and he should go home and take painkillers. There is something wrong and he has a clear case of skin erosion and/or infection in the pocket site of the device.
"Dirty and lacking any care."
