Having spent more than a week in The Royal Infirmary I must let you know about the excellent patient care/treatment I received.
I must commend ALL the doctors and ward staff I met during my stay in ward 36(stroke ward). It was reassuring to watch and be treated with such passion, commitment and professionalism during such a traumatic time.
Everyone in the ward especially sister Barbara(ward manager)and her team of nurses, auxiliaries and the ladies who provided the meals made my stay very relaxing and comfortable.
They would always have time to ask how I was keeping or if I needed anything and although very busy would spend some time having a chat.
Being fortunate that my condition made me (in my opinion) low maintenance, I did not feel I was getting low maintenance treatment.
During the day I would watch all the hustle and bustle of running the ward, although hectic at times every patient was given the staff's time and attention when required.
Some nights when I couldn't sleep I would watch the night shift running around taking care of patient's needs and requests, every patient including myself were given kind words, encouragment and a positive and professional care and treatment.
