"My husbands stay in Whiston Hospital"

(as a relative),

My husband was in whiston for one week on admission he was connected to what we thought was oxygen but infact it was found 5 days later to be air. The response to this error seemed to be that these things happen, and it appeared that no one checked to see what damage this may have caused him, and they showed little concern.

My husband had a terminal lung condition, I say had because he has now sadly passed away from this condition. Who knows how much this error contributed to his illness, this is something I will never know.

A complaint has been sent to the Hospital I am waiting for a reply, but to be honest I dont hold out much hope for the truth.

Thank you for your reply,I sincerely hope these matters are taken seriously as I certainly feel very let down by the system.

I have had a reply to my complaint from the Hospital concerned, they have admitted that my husband was indeed on air instead of oxygen and they have assured me that steps have been taken to make sure this does not happen again.

But my other concerns about his treatment while in hospital have not been answered to my satisfaction and I will be contacting them again regarding this.

All I want is the truth I certainly have not got that yet. So watch this space, I don't intend to give up.
