"Still waiting in A&E"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter came to A&E with kidney pains. She was in agony for 3 hours and still has not been seen. She is waiting in A&E now with my husband. It is disgusting that she has not even been seen to be given some type of pain killer. She has not been seen by a nurse or any thing. I am so ashamed that this is a hospital, it is untrue.

I'm so sorry for your daughter's experience in the emergency department yesterday. The department was extremely busy and we are very sorry for the delay, although 99% of patients were seen and treated within 4 hours. Our Chief Executive would be happy to talk through your experience if you would like to contact me with your details.

Kind regards,

Fionnula
