(as the patient),

I have been going to the batley CaSH for a number of years. The building got refurbished. The public carpark is at the front of the building and the entrance to the CaSH is round the other side. You used to be able to park next to the CaSH entrance but not now as there is a barrier there and it is for staff only. I feel very exposed as you have to walk round a corner, down a path and back up another path. I no longer feel safe walking round by myself, especially in dark weather. I am now choosing to go to Dewsbury CaSH simply because the parking is far safer for women.

Dear Curls

Our Health and Safety Manager Chris Bedford has been out to visit Batley Health Centre and investigate the issues you raised in your posting. He would like to issue the following response;

" Thank you for sharing your concerns which have been taken seriously. I have visited the premesis to undertake a risk assessment.

The car park at the front of Batley Health Centre is well lit and has a foot path leading down the side of the building which is next to a main road. There is also a CCTV camera in situ at the side of the building and we have no reported incidents that have occured on or outside the premises. The safety of our patients if of the upmost importance to us and we will of course continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns on Patient Opinion.
