"Thank you Miss Shoker at QMC Maxillofacial unit"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I was a patient in the Maxillofacial unit of the Queen's Medical Centre for the removal of palatal tori. I would like to thank Miss Shoker and her team in the unit for their kindness and care.

This is only a very minor point and nothing that upset me - I just felt a little rushed in the recovery area when the nurse tried to encourage me to eat something. Everyone else seemed to be able to manage it, but, perhaps because my lips and tongue were numb from anaesthetic, I could barely swallow a sip of water without choking. Also, with a numb mouth, it was hard to make myself understood. This just made me wonder whether or not nurses are aware of what kind of surgery each patient has had and how best to treat them accordingly.
