I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 1998 and was put under the care of the Gastroentorology clinic at the Royal South Hants hospital in Southampton.

I have always found them very helpful and caring.

An example is I suffered a flare-up of UC in February that I could not control by the usual medication that I have on repeat prescription. I therefore phoned Dr Stacey's clinic and was given an apointment for the following day. Dr Stacey then examined me and prescribed a course of steroid tablets, (the first time I have been given them). Within three hours of starting the course I noticed an improvement in the symptoms and within four weeks I was back in remission.

I think that this is a fantastic service from Dr Stacey, (who has always answered any questions I have), and his department. To be seen within 24 hours of telephoning the hospital is superb and being given the correct medication to control the illness is amazing.
