"Skills can be taught but the compassion..."

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

What I liked

I wish to publicly heap praise on Chesterfield Royal Hospital, especially staff on Barnes Ward. I want to say a huge, huge thank you to all who cared for me whilst I was here. I received first class care, from the skill of the consultants in gynacology and urology to the staff nurses, to the tea ladies and cleaners on Barnes Ward. They all gave me care and compassion beyond their call of duty and brought me through my darkest hours. The Royal Hospital should be given an accolade second to none, without the staff on Barnes Ward and consultants at the Royal I would not be here today. They have given a 70 years old lady a second chance of life for which my family and I will always be grateful. Thank you all so much.

What a lovely comment, which I thank you for taking the time to share on NHS Choices after such a recent hospital stay and surgery. It is always a delight to hear about the really positive experiences our patients have had and I will make sure that staff see your kind thoughts. I hope you are continuing to make a good recovery. With regards Sarah Turner-Saint, Head of Communications
