"A brilliant service when my GP could offer nothing..."

About: Western Eye Hospital

What I liked

I had a corneal abrasion and was in great pain. My GP had nothing to suggest other than that I ought to visit this hospital. I waited for about 3 hours before I was seen, but then got an excellent eye examination, very good advice, and antibiotic and anaesthetic drops. The staff were polite and helpful, and gave me full advice which didn't insult my intelligence.

What could be improved

Although I could complain about the long wait, this is the only walk-in centre for eye problems in London and I have to assume that everyone had an important problem or was in pain. So actually, I don't think anything could have been improved. This is an example of the NHS at its best. First class treatment at negligible cost to the end-user.
