"Two nurses let down an otherwise excellent stay at Queen's Medical Campus"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I stayed on F19 (West Block) the Orthopaedic ward. The majority of nurses on this ward were excellent. They showed care, kindness, were professional and patient the whole time to myself and to the other patients.

Two nurses were less than understanding, their manners were curt and abrupt. I felt embarrassed, as they made me feel that I was a nuisance. When I asked for the bed pan politely, I was told sharply that I would have to wait until she had finished an important job. I didn't mind this, but, the obvious annoyance was apparent in the nurses attitude. On another occasion the bed pan was dumped on the bed, and unfortunately I spilled the contents in my struggle to maneuver the pot into the correct place.

Generally though the staff were excellent and I have no grumbles at all, in fact I quite enjoyed my short stay in hospital.
